The cost of gasoline climbs higher every time you turn around and it is forcing everything else to climb as well. Grocery bills that were below one hundred dollars are now creeping up above two hundred. There is hope. Here are just a few tips to help you save money on your grocery bill.

1. Cut it out. Coupons may seem like a waste of time, but if you use them for products that you would normally buy then they can cause a windfall. It’s even better if you can find a market that doubles coupons AND you can find the product on sale. You can cut out the coupons that come with your newspaper or you can find what you are looking for over the internet. There are dozens of coupons sites – many of which are free.

2. Buy in bulk. If you can make the room to store the extras then make the room. Buying in bulk can potentially save you hundreds of dollars each year – even more if the prices continue to climb.

3. Carry a calculator. It’s hard to compare prices in the grocery store. Sometimes you have to convert weights before you can even stare the division process. The whole math situation will go much faster if you carry along a calculator.

4. Bigger is not always better. If you don’t need a 50 lb bag of flour, then it doesn’t matter how much cheaper it is by the ounce. Also, there are times when you will find that the larger container is actually more per ounce. Add in the coupons and the smaller container becomes the best buy in town.

There are literally hundreds of tips and suggestions to help you cut your grocery budget. Do you have a favorite?
