It seems that the price of gasoline for your vehicle goes up every time you blink. Experts are predicting that the worst is yet to come. For most people it is impossible to just part their cars and walk (or use public transportation). Here are some tips to help save on the rising cost of gas expenses for those who have to drive.
1. Save on gas expenses by driving defensively (less aggressive). This means you accelerate slower, break easier and in general don’t do anything quick when it comes to driving.
2. Fill up more often and save in the long run. Instead of waiting until your car is driving on fumes, fill up around ½ a tank.
3. Check your tire pressure every couple of weeks – particularly after a drastic temperature change. Having the wrong tire pressure can steal pressure mileage from your gas and keep you from saving on your gas budget.
4. Change the oil regularly (and have the car serviced). If the car is having difficulties in one area then it is likely to have difficulties with the gas mileage as well.
5. Combine your errands. Make a list of where (and when) you need to go and try to do it all at once. The less you drive then the more you will be able to save.
Saving money on gas is not all that difficult. It just takes a little patience and a little planning and you can make your gas budget go a long way.
