Let the Rubber Hit the Road

Most budgets are out of balance because people have things they don’t really need (sometimes things that they don’t even want). Simplify your life and fatten up your wallet by getting rid of those burdens that are wearing you down.

Cars are a modern marvel but for many people the automobile has taken over their lives. The ease of purchase – including leasing – has made many people who are normally wiser in financial matters step deep into debt.

1. Cut your car payments in half by cutting down to one car. Even large families can learn to combine errands or trips so that one car is all that is needed. Unless you live in an area where public transportation doesn’t exist then you will be able to pare down.

2. Get rid of the new need. No one NEEDS a new car. A car that is just a couple of years old will likely cost a half of what it cost new. You save a bundle by going a little older and the car will still be new to you.

3. Buy with cash. If you can’t buy with cash today then begin saving the payment each month until you can buy with cash. Until you can buy with cash you can find rides with friends or family (or public transportation if it’s available).

Saving money on your automobile expenses will save you a fortune in your budget.
